1. Who this notice applies to

This notice explains how Quote My Project (QMP), a UK sole-trader business, uses personal information relating to website visitors, trade registrants and, when customer posting launches, customers submitting projects.

For privacy enquiries contact info@quotemyproject.uk.

2. Information we may collect

For trade registrations this may include contact name, business or trading name, email address, mobile number, base postcode, coverage area, work categories, website, company number where supplied, insurance status, years trading, alert preferences, registration status and related account or administration information.

When customer project posting launches, information may include customer contact details, project location, category, description, budget, timing, photographs or documents supplied with a project, and communications or expressions of interest associated with that project.

We may also receive basic technical and security information generated when the website is used, such as IP address, browser/device information and server logs.

3. Why we use information

We use personal information to operate QMP; process and administer registrations; match or display relevant projects and trade interests; communicate about accounts and the service; prevent duplicate, fraudulent or abusive registrations; maintain security; respond to enquiries; comply with legal obligations; and improve the platform.

4. Lawful bases

Depending on the activity, we rely on steps taken at your request and performance of our service terms, our legitimate interests in operating and securing the marketplace, compliance with legal obligations, and consent where the law requires it, for example for certain marketing or non-essential cookies.

5. Who information may be shared with

We use service providers to host and operate QMP, including website hosting, database and infrastructure providers. Information may also be shared where necessary with professional advisers, payment providers when paid services launch, or public authorities where required by law. We do not sell personal information.

6. Trade and project visibility

Information intended to form part of a public or user-facing trade profile or project may be displayed to relevant QMP users. We will aim to avoid displaying private contact details publicly unless the service clearly tells you that they will be shown or you choose to share them.

7. How long we keep information

We keep information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purpose for which it was collected, including account administration, security, dispute handling and legal or tax requirements. Records that are no longer required will be deleted or anonymised where appropriate.

8. Your rights

UK data protection law may give you rights to ask for access to your personal information, correction, deletion, restriction, objection, or data portability, depending on the circumstances. Where processing relies on consent, you can withdraw that consent.

To exercise a privacy right, email info@quotemyproject.uk. You also have the right to complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office if you are unhappy with how your information has been handled.

9. Security

We use reasonable technical and organisational measures intended to protect personal information. No internet service can guarantee absolute security, so users should also protect their own account and communications.

10. Changes to this notice

We may update this notice as QMP develops. The current version and update date will be published on this page.
